Above in this comment thread: Open Source Workflow Engines Written in Java » which workflow engine is popular?-

well...

  • jBpm is popular because it's well marketed and has been bought by jBoss. They claim to be "The Open Source Workflow Engine" and that they will be the "de factor standard".
  • Agila is popular because it has been donated to Apache, but its dev list is dead mute. Gluecode claims that it has included it in its JOE stack (they claim they have integrated Apache Agila, but for the moment, they even haven't exported it to Apache...).
  • Shark has Jawe... It used to make a lot of noise, but now...

So, you want to buy (with money and/or time) bluff, market-speak, hope or real stuff ?

Have a deep look at forums, mailing-lists, activity, websites, newsgroups. And follow your instinct, don't get fooled.

Very disturbing : http://www.jbpm.org/references.html

jBpm lists Gluecode as its first reference...

Is Gluecode's Agila a jBpm spinoff ?
