"Showcase" Applications For Java Web Frameworks

Document Actions

"The proof is in the pudding".

The problem with a majority of the web frameworks out there is that although they exist (i.e. come with working code) they haven't been "used in anger". In otherwords, I would really like to see (and possibly almost every other java developer), a "mildly complex" application that showcases the framework. Better yet, some statistics on how much work was devoted to build the application.

So, I'm building a new list that I'm hoping the community can fill in the blanks, here's a list of Web Application frameworks written in Java and their respective "showcase" applications.

  1. WebWork - JIRA, Konjunkturininstitutet, Comers

I figure that if in the next couple of months (enough time for you to build the application), if you can't come up with a descent looking application then your framework might as well be thrown in the dust bin1. So for all those framework developers, start your engines! Please let me know of your "showcase" app, please provide a URL and of course no "demos" please only "real" apps qualify.

1. Like going backwards in time for YAGNI, if the apps don't exist then you can't justify the existence of the framework.
