What to use if a real Rules Engine is overkill?

Posted by Anonymous User at 2004-05-19 01:31 AM

Hi,

what products are available if a real RulesEngine with its Knowledge Base and RETE algorithm is overkill, because one just needs rules for processing incoming data and directing it into this or that following workflow? The rules should of course be configurable...

Best regards, Mattin

Prova as workflow integration

Hi Martin,

Sorry for the self-plug, but I suggest you should try Prova at http://comas.soi.city.ac.uk/prova. It is perhaps the first rule-based scripting system, ideal for workflow integration and it is has a consistent simple and efficient syntax and semantics for messages and reaction rules, Java and agent scripting, as well as database and XML integration.
