I want a list of tools. I've never been on a project where "open source" was a requirement. A list of good tools is useful, not a censored list meeting a silly criteria. Many times I've used a commercial product over an open source one primarily becuase is was cheaper (my coders time isn't free). Glue vs AXIS is a good example.

@useless
maybe your precious developer time is cheaper to do your own list, hmm?
think about it, master.
and do not copy anything (spell USE) from this list, because nothing is for free. for you. and your precious developer time.
Another free tip:
Read webpages' titles with an hawkish sharp eye, decipher it per your strategy and decide bravely if it is or isn't for you. If it isn't, just go ahead on google's list next point.
reading only one (1) line instead of hundreds (100+), that will save you a hellish lot of your precious, expensive developer time.
and our's too, lol. cheers
please reconsultate your conscience, if you got one

Other comments have already made the point well, but I've just got to say that there is no reason for such arrogance. Is making useless, vitriolic, and obviously inciting comments on friendly technical message boards what you consider to be a good use of your precious development time? Sheesh!

Did you consider that it's an open source page because those products are easy to rate and evaluate? Do you expect the author to buy (or go through restricted trials) to rate something?
