about eXo

hello,

first I'de like to thank the author for this great list of open source portal software.

About eXo. It's a great project and has a lot of potential. What needs to be done at the eXo team is DOCUMENTATION! They even lack a no nonsens installation guide. The docs are cluttered around on the sf.net page, the community portal, in cvs and the archieves. I tried setting up eXo this morning and it was not easy at all. Still not working correctly. Maybe I should go check out cvs and pull the full source.

If you just need/want to learn/try out portlet development, then eXo is not for you. If you are a hardcore j2ee developer, then it's yours.

At the moment I'll stick with liferay to learn the basics about portlet development. And liferay seems to be a very active project where IMHO eXo has a bit stalled lately.

And, of course, a fresh layout would be nice, too.

cheers Michael
