My point exactly. Too much hype driving Rails/Ruby, not enough coverage of Python. Maybe Google's AppEngine changes the status quo.
I think the difference between the communities are that Ruby (as a consequence of Rails) are more web application centric and Python having more diversity and thus less focus. In short, you'll find a lot of innovative applications and frameworks in the Python space. Can you point out some innovative projects in the Ruby/Rails space?
