What about Smalltalk itself? It is usually defined as a Programming
language AND environment. The Smalltalk compiler and IDE are
written in Smalltalk (since the 80s or so). The "Java Browsing
Perspective" in Eclipse gives you a feeling of an Smalltalk IDE.
Even "Find References" and stuff like that has been in Smalltalk
systems for decades.
