This really doesn't make any sense. You didn't explains WHY the costs would be higher. The ASP.NET technology is free, it's just Windows that raises the cost. Although that wouldn't be a problem with existing Windows servers.
Anyway, you talk about 4 layers of abstraction. How COULD you be so stupid? This is just regular OO, it's everywhere! You're talking about JAVA for goodness sake! Any idea how many layers are involved in a Java call?
