While the particular example cited is not compelling (Java has had Just-In-Time compilation since at least 1998), it certainly would be interesting to make a list of 101 reasons why .NET is better than Java. It would probably show up a different set of trade-offs, reflecting a different value system.
However, one would expect a .NET advocate to do it. :-)
