Google and Babelfish The Universal Translators

20021223104316

I got an email message from Marcos Planco complimenting my blog:

Hola Carlos,
Me parece que el blog es fabuloso! De que pais provienes? Estamos impulsando Java desde Puerto Rico (www.sociedadjava.org), y tu blog es
'required reading', como dicen en castellano.
Saludos y Feliz Navidad,
Marcos

Unfortunately, I wasn't a Spanish speaker, however, with google I was able to read it and respond back:

Hola Marcos,

Gracias por sus elogios. Soy de las Filipinas, yo no soy un altavoz español nativo. Buena suerte con su sitio.

Tenga una Feliz Navidad también,

Carlos

It turns out he has a blog in Spanish based on SnipSnap.  An interesting feature is that it can translate itself to English.  Marcos points me to Babelfish and its free website translation feature.

Now, you can read my blog in 9 different languages!
